For The Simpsons: Hit & Run on the GameCube, a GameFAQs Answers question titled 'Where can I find the open wheel race car? How do I unlock it?' If The Simpsons and Grand Theft Auto had a love child, the result would most likely be The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Simpsons hit and run level 3 races. Surprisingly, the end result is a pretty solid clone and what many consider to be the best Simpsons game. Not only that, but there's a lot of interesting unused content lurking inside, and we're not kidding when we say a lot.

Incredibly customisable to randomise the game your way(tm) and infamous for doing unusually horrifying things in Lua.
This is is now version 2.0 because there's a lot of crazy new features and it's mostly stable. Note that it's very possible you *will* crash the game,
there are a lot of unusual cases to this game and randomising everything is very complicated. Please play with saves!

The mod is open source and all code contributions are welcome, please consider reading CONTRIBUTING for more detail on the best ways to help!
Potential Limitations/Issues
- Missions will spawn you where you start if you restart the mission once, this is because adding a forced car teleports you.
- The list of cars to chose from is built into the script and so if you use mods which add extra cars they won't be chosen, and if a mod removes cars the game will crash if the randomiser picks it. There is now Custom Cars support to add extra cars, but it requires some work!
- Your car will vanish at the end of the mission, even if you are in it. Again this is because of how forced cars work.
- There is a spot where random characters will be sat in mid air. This is due to how passengers/drivers work.
- The game probably will crash, this is because the mod is complicated and the game does not appreciate a lot of changes
We have upgraded to the latest version of MediaWiki and now support TLS1.2 and transcoding!

Simpsons Hit And Run Red Brick Cards
Although technically not unused, as mods can bring them back up or an in-game cheat for the phone booth makes a subsection for these cars, and the fact that they are used by NPC racers in the bonus racing mini games, the following cars are never seen on the roads and cannot be purchased. Oddly, for unused cars, they can be driven by the player and have proper statistics like normal cars, hinting they were originally going to be used at one point in the game.

---|---|---|
redbrick | A little LEGO-like brick car. The 'engine' animates, with the parts moving up and down. It's script file calls it 'Red Brick V2.0' and also says '( now with more power! )'. V1.0 of the Brick Car was likely the similar vehicle featured in The Simpsons: Road Rage, with a much simpler design compared to this one. A cheat code can be used in the options screen to replace all bonus cars in levels with the Brick Car (such as the Monorail in Level 2):
It can also be obtained with the 'All Cars' cheat. Simpsons hit and run game grumps. In an interview with YouTube user Cleanprincegaming, the game's lead programmer, Cary Brisebois stated the vehicle was used to test the game. | |
tt (cuda in tt.con) | A first-generation Audi TT. The game will crash if you try to enter it, so you'll need to destroy the car and then drive the wreck over a wrench pickup to properly drive it. It could have been used for testing, but this would be odd given that it was confirmed that the Redbrick vehicle was a test vehicle. It could also have been cut due to legal obligations. Oddly, despite all of the model assets being present, the CON file for the Audi TT, tt.con does not exist in the prototype of the game. | |
CellB | A beige colored Cellphone Car. These different colored variants were meant for the Cell-Outs mission in Level 2, but the first one (CellA) is used four times. They also have different ringing and horn noises. | |
CellC | Lavender Cellphone car. | |
CellD | Lighter blue Cellphone car. | |
CCube | A slightly vandalized cyan and grey van with boxes in the rear cargo. Quite possibly a placeholder car, as two trucks featured in-game (The cBone and Duff Truck) are simply re-textured versions of the car. Oddly enough, though, it is slightly taller than the other two trucks, and the yellow headlights are slightly different. The document 'THE VEHICLES OF HIT' found in one of the PR Asset Discs lists the vehicle under the 'AI CONTROLLED VEHICLES' section, proving that it was in fact going to be used somewhere in the game. | |
Icecream | An ice cream truck for Phineas Q. Butterfat's parlor. The top of the truck has Marge's head and hair depicted as tall ice cream, and has a jingle of its own. It's not mentioned in the traffic data for any level, but it's speculated it might have been used for Level 1. | |
SedanA | A sedan which it would've appeared in place of the School Bus in Level 1's traffic (as evidenced by its internal name right next to the string for the school bus). Judging by the name of the car, it's most likely a smaller variant of SedanB. The grey is also used in other traffic cars for coloring. | |
WagonA | A station wagon variant of SedanA with a longer chassis and re-textured grille sticker, but sharing the grille and stock wheels. While not documented anywhere, early trailers and previews show that the car was originally intended to appear in place of the Glass Truck in Level 1. Despite it's name, it is the only station wagon in the entire game. |
Additionally, there is a Test.con, a testing handling file for a 'ferra'.
